There are 21 lifts serving ski runs up to 5.3 miles in length, including multiple super quads and the new surface lift serving the Cirque for expert skiing and snowboarding above treeline. The Big Burn, known for it's long wide avenues separated by glades of spruce and fur trees. Sam's Knob offers some of the area's tougher and less crowded intermediate trails, with plenty of short steep runs. Alpine Springs and High Alpine offer intermediate, advanced and expert-only skiing. Long, groomed and tree lined slopes can be found here along with spectacular, steep terrain. Elk Camp is a haven of intermediate terrain. An impressive view of the Maroon Bells awaits skiers at the top of Elk Camp. Snowmass Ski Area consists of four mountains in one, with more black diamond and double black diamond terrain than any other area in the valley. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy in Snowmass, from dog sledding, ballooning or cross country skiing, to cruising the Village Mall or hopping the shuttle for a quick ride to Aspen.

What's New: Already one of North America's premier resorts, Snowmass continues to undergo a host of on-mountain improvements that will greet skiers and riders for the 2008-2009 season: a new Sheer Bliss lift; Sam's Smokehouse restaurant and Sneaky's Tavern; additional commercial, residential and restaurant space in base village; the new Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center; the Elk Camp Meadows learning area accessible by the eight-passenger Elk Camp Gondola. In addition, the Snow Park Technologies-designed Snowmass Park now includes a 22-foot superpipe! Plus, thanks to the latest in radio frequency technology, guests will speed through select gates at access lifts without requiring a scan or check.
